The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) said it has identified two individuals, suspected of Nijjar’s murder at Surrey’s Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in early June this year. OTTAWA – While India disgraced itself on the world ways with its murderous ways in the brazen political assassination of Canadian Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Canada has declared on Wednesday that it is about to arrest Nijjar’s killers, further stain on India’s so-called democracy.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s (RCMP) said it has identified two individuals, suspected of Nijjar’s murder at Surrey’s Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in early June this year. The anticipated arrest is expected to take place within a few weeks, marking a significant turn in a case that has shaken the Sikh community and strained Indo-Canadian relations.

Amid the grief and shock that followed Nijjar’s murder, fingers have been pointed at the Indian government, with allegations surfacing of its involvement in the slaying. These accusations have cast a pall over bilateral relations, adding a layer of international intrigue to an already delicate situation.

Further deepening the plot, there are allegations of a connection between Nijjar’s murder and Indian agents residing in Canada. This controversial link extends even further, reaching across the border to a foiled plot to eliminate a Canadian-American Sikh activist in New York. This plot, it is alleged, has apparent ties to the murder in British Columbia, pointing to a potential network of nefarious operations spanning continents.

DESIBUZZCanada has from the start pointed the finger at the Indian government with this headline following the murder: WHO KILLED HARDEEP SINGH NIJJER? Sikhs Point To Indian Government Agents For Carrying Out Political Murders – Khalistani Activists Nijjer And Avtar Singh Khanda Murdered Days Apart And Weeks Before Khalistan Referendum!”

Nijjar was a vocal Khalistan advocate who was murdered in the temple parking lot on a early June, Sunday evening in a brazen killing that’s left Sikhs worldwide in shock that two prominent Sikh activists who have been integral to the Sikh independence movement abroad have been murdered.

So who murdered Nijjer?

Sikhs took to social media to highlight that killing of the Sikh leader was a political assassination and ongoing conspiracy to silence Sikhs worldwide. “India is targeting Sikhs in Punjab and eliminating leading Sikh activists throughout the world,” they wrote on Facebook. “This is a coordinated effort. Intelligence agencies and politicians are helpless, if not complicit. Bhai Hardeep Singh was only advocating for freedom. He was shot dead in broad daylight in Surrey on the property of the Gurdwara Sahib. What happened today is an act of war on Sikhs.”

Just days before Nijjar’s murder, UK-based Khalistan advocate Avtar Singh Khanda was allegedly poisoned to death. The Sikh community in the UK has called for a “full investigation” into the death of Khanda, a Khalistan movement leader who mysteriously died in Birmingham last week.

The Indian government had sought Nijjer’s arrest for helping to create and lead the Khalistan movement which had garnered much support over the last 5-10 years. The movement, which included highlighting human rights abuses against Sikhs in India, was started because the Indian government has refused or neglected for years to hold those responsible for the 1984 massacre of Sikhs.

Another prominent Sikh leader and controversial Air India acquitted suspect Ripudaman Singh Malik was also gunned down last year. During that time, Indian agencies had blamed Nijjer for the murder but he had staunchly denied any involvement in Malik’s killing and Canadian police agencies did not charge or even indicated that Nijjer was a suspect.

But now Malik’s murder also has all the trademarks of an Indian government agents’ handiwork t stir the pot in the Canadian Sikh community.

The RCMP did arrest two men for Malik’s murder, one of whom was on bail for another murder, but police have not been forthcoming about what the killers said or their motives for killing.

At the time of Nijjar’s murder, we had reported that according to DESIBUZZCanada sources, three men allegedly associated with the murder have been arrested but so far police have not confirmed anything. RCMP and CSIS long had suspects in their radar but had been collecting more information to make their case and arrests solid.

Surrey RCMP said at the time that they were aware of social media posts that are speculating on the identity of the victim (Nijjar), but are not in a position to confirm the victim’s identity at this very early time. Nijjar’s murder contract, said to be in the $500,000 range, had been circulating on the dark web weeks prior to the murder.
