ABBOTSDORD – Another Indo-Canadian man murdered in the ongoing gangland warfare that has claimed more than 200 Indo-Canadian men.

On July 20, 2018 at 12:40 p.m., Grewal’s family reported him missing to the Abbotsford Police Department.  When police arrived at Grewal’s residence to check on his well-being, they found him dead inside the home.  Grewal death was deemed a homicide and IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation.

IHIT is working closely with its partners from the Abbotsford Police Department, the APD Forensic Identification Section and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.

In order to further the ongoing homicide investigation, IHIT is confirming Grewal was known to police and investigators believe his murder was not a random act.

Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT says, “We believe there are those who knew Mr. Grewal that may have information that could help us solve his murder.  We need anyone with information to contact IHIT immediately.”

Jang says they are still trying to figure out if his death had anything to do with gang activity or drug dealing.

“We need people to come forward right now as our investigators are trying to determine a timeline of his activities leading up to his death,” Jang says. “So any family members or friends and associates that knew Mr. Grewal please, come forward and speak with IHIT.”
