Businessman and renowned athlete David Siddoo was honoured recently at a South Asian sports awards held in Surrey. “I am remarkably proud of my good friend, and KidsPlay Ambassador, David Sidoo, winning huge accolades at the recent Amateur Sports Awards Gala in the Trailblazer category,” wrote VPD officer and KidsPlay founder Kal Dosanjh on social media recently.

SURREY – Businessman and renowned athlete David Siddoo was honoured recently at a South Asian sports awards held in Surrey.

“I am remarkably proud of my good friend, and KidsPlay Ambassador, David Sidoo, winning huge accolades at the recent Amateur Sports Awards Gala in the Trailblazer category,” wrote VPD officer and KidsPlay founder Kal Dosanjh on social media recently.

Sidoo is a successful businessman, philanthropist, and former professional Canadian football player with the BC Lions and other Canadian Football League teams. Sidoo is also a former UBC Thunderbirds defensive back, and was also named one of the UBC Football Top 100 Players of All-Time.

During his time at UBC, Sidoo was a leader on and off the field, setting numerous records and earning numerous accolades for his athletic and academic achievements. He was one of the first South Asians to play in the Canadian Football League. He played with the BC Lions and the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
